How to

Report occupational injury or illness

Employers and others in similar positions have a duty to report the injury on your behalf when occupational accidents or harmful exposures occur at work. You can also send a report yourself.

When can you report yourself?

You can send an injury report to Nav in the event of an occupational injury or illness, if the person who is obliged to report does not do so. Obliged to report are employers, the Armed Forces, principals or others in similar positions.

In these situations, you can report an occupational injury or disease yourself:

  • When he workplace or educational institution has closed down or has been wound up.
  • When the company cannot report the injury to Nav for other reasons.
  • As a survivor, if the relevant employer or institution does not report the occupational accident or occupational illness.
