How to
Give Nav correct information
When you apply for financial support or services from Nav, it is important that you provide correct information. This helps us give you the support you are entitled to, at the right time.
Why is it important to provide correct information?
Nav relies on correct information from you to process your case as quickly as possible and to make accurate decisions and payments.
You are required to provide correct information to Nav
You are required to provide Nav with correct and complete information. This obligation also applies to any changes that occur after you have submitted your application.
Consequences of providing incorrect information
If you give wrong or incomplete information, it can lead to:
- Longer processing times
- Incorrect decisions, such as payments that are too low or for too short a period
- Payments from Nav that are too high and must be repaid
- In the most serious cases, being reported to the police. This does not apply in cases where we ask for estimates or other uncertain information.
You must notify us of any changes
To receive the correct payment, you must also report any changes to your income or life situation.
How to report changes

Situations that may affect your payment

- Changes in marital status (marriage, cohabitation, separation, death)
- Changes in family situation (having children, children moving out, no longer supporting children)
