Apply for access to the Aa Register
The Aa register is a basic data register of employment history in Norway that Nav owns and manages. The register is available to public agencies and some private actors.
Who can get access?
All public authorities and others who need information about employment relationships to solve public tasks, can access the register.
Private pension providers may be granted access to necessary information about employment for use in their work on occupational pensions (OTP).
Watch a short video about access and various areas of use for the Aa register (vimeo.com).

What can you access?
Nav offers three different services to obtain data from the Aa register:
Integrated Lookup (API)
This service provides access to machine-to-machine integration. This is a standard solution offered free of charge. See detailed description of Integrated lookup (Github).
Web postings
This service provides access to notices in a logged-in service at nav.no. This is a standard service for public actors that is offered free of charge. See detailed description of Web postings.
Extraction
This is a delivery that is not in a standard format. To get an extract from the register, the applicant must fill in a detailed description in "Appendix to application - data content" (standard format).
Nav may charge for developing such an extract if there is a need for specially adapted solutions.
