Service
Temporary (emergency) accommodation
Help from Nav to find temporary accommodation when you do not have a place to sleep and stay for the next 24 hours.
Who can get?
You can get help from Nav to find a temporary accommodation if you do not have anywhere to sleep and stay for the next 24 hours. Nav is obliged to find you temporary accommodation if you cannot do it on your own.
You can also get help from Nav to find a temporary accommodation if you temporarily stay at your family or friends' place.
What can you get?
What is offered as temporary accommodation varies from municipality to municipality.
The Nav office must ensure that the temporary accommodation offer is suitable for your needs, and that the housing has a proper standard.
If you do not have money to pay for the accommodation yourself, you can apply for financial assistance.
A temporary home is not meant to last over time.
Your Nav-office can help you finding a permanent housing if you cannot do it yourself.
Application and appeal
If you need a temporary accommodation, take contact with your local Nav office or the local office where you are staying.
You have the right to a letter of decision, and you also have the right to complain.
