Facts
Social security agreements determine which country's social security rules will apply for you if you move to or start working in another country with which your country has signed a social security agreement.
The Social security agreements between two countries improve social security protection for people who work or otherwise have creditable periods in both countries. It helps many people who, without the agreement, would not be eligible for monthly retirement or survivor’s pensions, and disability benefits under the Social Security system of one or both countries.
