The due date must be confirmed by a doctor or midwife and must be dated at earliest from the 27th week of pregnancy. The same applies to any copy of your personal health record. Fathers or co-mothers applying do not attach the certificate of the baby’s due date.

The same goes for the mother if she applies after the child is born.

 

Attachment: Documentation of date asylum has been granted

If you are seeking asylum and have not received an answer to your application, you must enclose documentation that you are seeking asylum.

If you have been granted asylum, you must enclose documentation showing the date on which you have been granted asylum (not the date when the decision was made).

Attachment: Documentation of employment and income

If you are employed, your employer must document your period of employment, agreed leave period and salary using form NAV 08-30.01 - “Income details”. If you have a deduction from earnings order and NAV is going to pay parental benefits to you directly, your employer must also fill out form NAV 08-30.02 - “Deductions”. Forms NAV 08-30.01 and NAV 08-30.02 must be filled out by the employer. You may handover the forms to your employer or your employer may obtain these from www.nav.no/skjema.

If you are self-employed or freelance, you must enclose documentation from an auditor or accountant, a copy of your tax assessment and trading statement or similar.

Attachment: Documentation of period(s) of employment from employer(s) in the relevant EEA member state.

Attachment: Documentation of the period of military or civil national service.

Your military base must document your period of service.

Attachment: Documentation of severance pay.

Your employer must document your income and the period to which the severance pay applies.

 If severance pay is paid as a lump sum, your employer must document the period to which the amount applies.

Your employer must document your wages using form NAV 08-30.01 – “Income details”. It must be stated on this form in which period the course takes place.  If you have a deduction from earnings order and NAV is going to pay parental benefits to you directly, your employer must also fill out form NAV 08-30.02 – “Deductions”.

Attachment: Documentation of the mother’s education, employment or illness.

When only the father or co-mother is eligible for parental benefit or will claim benefits for the entire period or parts of the shared period, the mother must meet certain activity criteria during the same period. If the mother is receiving disability benefit, the other parent may claim parental benefits for up to 10 weeks before the mother is required to meet certain activity criteria.

If the mother is studying, you must enclose confirmation from the educational institution that the course is officially approved, full-time and its duration.

If the mother is working, you must enclose documentation from the mother’s employer stating how much she is working in relation to a full-time position and during which period she is working.

If the mother is combining work and education that together adds up to a 100% position, you must enclose documentation as mentioned above and that shows the part-time percentages.

If the mother is ill, you must enclose a description of functional ability from the mother’s doctor stating that she is completely dependent on receiving assistance to look after her child. It is not enough to submit a doctor’s certificate. Her doctor must also write a special medical certificate clearly stating how the illness or injury affects her ability to care for her child, the amount of assistance she requires and how long the illness is expected to last.

If the mother is admitted to a health institution, you must enclose confirmation of admission from the institution.

If the mother is participating in a qualification programme for people with significantly impaired work and earning capacity, you must enclosed documentation from the programme organizer.

If the mother is participating in an introduction programme for recently arrived immigrants pursuant to Chapter 2 of the Introduction Act, you must enclose documentation from the programme organizer.
