Payment from USA
Electronic invoicing and direct debit
You can use electronic invoicing (“eFaktura”) to pay any money you need to pay to NAV Collection. Direct debit (“avtalegiro”) can be used in support cases. Learn more about paying by electronic invoicing and direct debit here (link)
Payment using a customer ID number (“KID”)
If you cite the KID number for the transaction when you make a payment, the payment will be recorded in your file more quickly. In support cases, the money will also be transferred to the recipient more quickly. We therefore recommend that you always cite the KID number when you make a payment. You can find the KID number on the invoice.
Contact The Collection Agency of the Labour and Welfare Administration if you do not have the KID number.
For advance payments, mark the payment with your Norwegian national identity number (11 digits) and state what type of benefit it applies to.
Changing the due date
Support and advance support are due for payment on the 25th of each month. The due date cannot be changed. This follows from section 9 of the Act respecting recovery of maintenance allowance.
For other payments, the due date can be changed on request. Call The Collection Agency of the Labour and Welfare Administration on (+47) 21 05 11 00.
I have not received an invoice
You have a duty to pay within the due date, even if you have not received an invoice one month. This follows from section 9 of the Act respecting recovery of maintenance allowance.
Call The Collection Agency of the Labour and Welfare Administration on (+47) 21 05 11 00 if you do not have the KID number.
I want to have the amount deducted directly from my pay or benefit
Direct deduction from pay or benefit is called “withholding”. This is an enforcement measure. NAV Collection only has the authority to impose direct deduction from pay or other benefit in cases where we do not receive payment voluntarily.
All withholding of pay or benefit will result in a record of unpaid debt, which will affect your credit rating.
Paid too much to NAV Collection
We need to have your bank account number in order to be able to reimburse you.
Register your bank account number on nav.no. Log in and select "Din profil" at the bottom of the page. Enter your account number in the section for registration / change of bank account.
