Payment dates

Information about payments. In general:

  • If you have not received your money by the dates below, we ask you to log into Your payments (Dine utbetalinger) and check the status of your payments, before you call us on: 55 55 33 33. If you have any pension questions (except disability benefit), call: 55 55 33 34.
  • If the payment date is a weekend or bank holiday, payment will normally be made on the last working day before the ordinary payment date.
  • Some benefits are subject to deduction free periods or reduced tax.

Sickness benefit, parental benefit, pregnancy benefit, attendance allowance, care benefit and training allowance 

  • Your money will normally be in your account by the the 25th of the month. In December, you will normally receive your money around the 12th.
  • For new applications that have not been processed by the 20th of a month (or within the 12th of December), you will receive your payment as soon as the application is granted. See the expected processing time (text in Norwegian.)     

Barnetrygd og kontantstøtte

  • Du vil normalt ha pengene på konto innen siste virkedag i måneden.
  • I desember vil du normalt motta pengene rundt den 18.

Child benefit and cash-for-care benefit

  • Your money will normally be in your account by the last working day of the month.
  • In December, you will normally receive your money around 18th.

Advance payments of child support

  • Your money will normally be in your account by the 10th of each month.

Pension, disability benefit and supplementary benefit

  • Your money will normally be in your account by the 20th of each month.
  • In December, you will normally receive your money around 12 December.
  • In May, you will normally receive your money before the 17th of May.

Transitional benefit and child care benefit to working single parent and basic and attendance benefit

  • Your money will normally be in your account by the 20th of each month.
  • In December, you will normally receive your money around 12 December.
  • In May, you will normally receive your money before the 17th of May.

Unemployment benefit and work assessment allowance

  • Payment will be made two to three days after the unemployment status form was registered.

Financial assistance (social assistance)

  • Payment of this benefit varies from municipality to municipality.

Supplemental benefits

There is no set payment date set for receiving supplemental benefits because the date depend on what the supplement is intended to cover:

  • Running expenses are paid on a monthly basis. These benefits are paid monthly on the date stated on NAV's confirmation letter.
  • Non-recurring expenses are paid as soon as NAV made its decision and the due date for the expense has passed.
  • Daily travel using your own car is paid when NAV has submitted your digital driving log.

You will normally have the money at your account 2-3 business days after the allowance or benefit is disbursed by NAV.
