About NAV EURES

The EURES network comprises some 800 EURES advisers with more EURES executives and employment officers throughout the whole of Europe. EURES is enshrined in the EEA Agreement.

In Norway, EURES is an integrated service within the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration.(NAV). EURES advisers are specially trained in the international mobility of labour and are NAV’s experts in issues related to recruiting to and from abroad.

EURES advisers and executives are distributed across all counties, and are located with NAV at county level or with NAV local services. The specialist management of NAV EURES is located at the Directorate of Labour and Welfare.

For jobseekers

If you are a foreign jobseeker wishing to work in Norway, we recommend that you first get in touch with a EURES adviser in your home country.  If you are already in Norway, you can contact a member of EURES where you are staying. EURES advisers and EURES employment officers will give you information about employment and living conditions in those countries that interest you. EURES advisers will also be able to offer you advice and guidance as required while you are going through the job seeking process.

For employers

EURES can provide information about trades and industries, markets, access to labour, legislation and regulation, and possible partners.

We can also:

•  advertise and follow up positions in Norway and throughout the whole or parts of the EU/EEA through various channels like www.nav.no, the EURES portal and through the EURES network.
•  provide information about possible advertising channels like trade journals and newspapers.
• provide tips and advice on the design and content of a situations vacant advertisement.
• arrange meetings or recruitment fairs in connection with your company’s own recruitment needs.

Information from NAV EURES

EURES has published brochures aimed at employers seeking to recruit from Europe, and at jobseekers wanting to work in Europe and in Norway.  EURES has also produced a DVD, "Moving to Norway ? Know before you go?" The DVD is available in English, with Polish and German subtitles. The brochure Living and Working in Norway is available in Norwegian, English, German, and Polish.

"EURES Nytt " is an informative paper published six times a year.
