EURES (EURopean Employment Services) is a cooperation between EU/EEA countries and Switzerland. The cooperation is designed to promote the free movement of workers within the EU/EEA.
The EURES network comprises some 800 EURES advisers with more EURES executives and employment officers throughout the whole of Europe. EURES is enshrined in the EEA Agreement.
In Norway, EURES is an integrated service within the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration.(NAV). EURES advisers are specially trained in the international mobility of labour and are NAV’s experts in issues related to recruiting to and from abroad.
EURES advisers and executives are distributed across all counties, and are located with NAV at county level or with NAV local services. The specialist management of NAV EURES is located at the Directorate of Labour and Welfare.
If you are a foreign jobseeker wishing to work in Norway, we recommend that you first get in touch with a EURES adviser in your home country. EURES advisers and EURES employment officers will give you information about employment and living conditions in those countries that interest you. EURES advisers will also be able to offer you advice and guidance as required while you are going through the job seeking process.
