Below are various application forms and a list of the documents you need to enclose when you submit an application to NAV.
Good documentation saves time for everyone. Make sure you submit all the documents we need to process your case with your
application, so we can deal with your application promptly, saving you and us time.
Ask your NAV office if there is something you are unsure about. We can also show you how to find the information you need
on our website nav.no, and we have computers you are welcome to use.
Forms

Documents that must be submitted with your application or claim (see also the appendix to the application form):
- Documentation of separation or divorce, if this has not been registered with NAV previously
- Declaration of break-up of relationship, for unmarried parents that were living together
- Confirmation of the estimated date of delivery (due date), if the child has not been born yet
The following documents must also be submitted, as appropriate:
- Confirmation that you are registered as a refugee with the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI)
- A copy of your a residence permit granted on other grounds if you are not a Norwegian citizen
- A copy of your child access agreement
- A copy of the dual domicile agreement for the child / children
If you are applying for transitional benefit or child care benefit, please enclose the following documents:
- Confirmation of your employment and income - applies to both transitional benefit and child care benefit
- Confirmation of the education / training you are undertaking - applies to both transitional benefit and child care benefit
- A medical certificate confirming your or your child’s sickness - in connection with applications for transitional benefit
when your youngest child is between the ages of three and ten years old and child care benefit
- Documentation that you are unable to find child care - in connection with applications for transitional benefit when your
youngest child has reached the age of three
- Confirmation that your child requires extra care - applies to continued transitional benefit in connection with sickness,
disability or serious social problems
- Documentation of your child care expenses
- Documentation of extended or irregular absence from the home - in connection with applications for child care benefit after
your child has completed the fourth year of school
- Confirmation that your child needs significantly more care than other children in the same age group - in connection with
applications for child care benefit after your child has completed the fourth year of school
If you are applying for education benefit, please enclose the following documents:
- Confirmation that you have been accepted to study at a school or educational institution
- Documentation of paid school fees, student union fees, etc.
- Documentation of your daily travel expenses between your home and your place of study
As appropriate, please submit the following documents:
- Extra housing expenses
- Documentation of travel expenses (yours and, as applic., the child’s) to visit children left behind at your home
- Documentation of travel expenses (yours and, as applic., the child’s) at the beginning and end of the academic year
- Documentation of estimates for relocation expenses
- Documentation of travel expenses (yours and, as applic., the child’s) in connection with relocation
If you are applying for money to cover relocation costs in order to work, please enclose the following documents:
