Time-limited wage subsidies are an employment scheme that aims to motivate employers to hire employees under regular terms of employment. Ordinary private companies and the public sector can get wage subsidies for a limited time while they employ you.

The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) can grant a time-limited wage subsidy to employers who hire those who have difficulty entering the labour market.

Your employer must submit the application for a wage subsidy. When you participate in the time-limited wage subsidy measure, you are a regular employee subject to the regular terms of employment. You must carry out the regular tasks in the company, part time or full time. The purpose of the wage subsidy is to enable you to gain a permanent position with the same employer.
Duration
The duration of the wage subsidy is to be based in an evaluation of your needs and work capabilities, and be tailored to your individual needs.
If you have an impaired work capability, the wage subsidy can last for a maximum of three years. For all others, the wage subsidy can last for a maximum of one year.
How much will I receive?
As a participant in the wage subsidy measure, you will be paid a regular wage by your employer.

Contact your local office of the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV).
You must fill in an application form together with your employer. It is important that you do not start the traineeship before we have approved your place of work for the traineeship.
