How do you apply?
If you would like an application form to apply for benefit for previous family carers, you can approach your NAV Local Services or use the application form here. The form contains information and guidance. It is important that you read this before completing the form. If you need help to complete it, you can contact NAV Local Services.
The application form should be sent to NAV Pensjon, Postboks 6600 Etterstad, 0607 Oslo.
You can get a quicker response if you obtain the necessary documentary evidence yourself, for example, details of your income and assets.
What can you get?
The pension consists of basic pension and special supplement. The size of the pension/transitional benefit depends on the time you have been a member of the National Insurance Scheme. The pension will be reduced if you have, or can expect to have, your own income from employment.

Benefits for family carers can only be granted to persons who have cared for a person close to them who was a member of the National Insurance Scheme and resident in Norway.
