the specific provisions of the EEA Agreement is as follows:
Regulation (EEC) 1408/71 of the Council and Regulation (EEC) 574/72 of the Council, Regulation concerning unemployment benefit under adaptation of the EEA agreement, Regulation concerning payment of rehabilitation benefit according to EEA regulations and the Nordic convention on social security. In addition, Norway has reciprocal national insurance treaties with Austria and the Netherlands, and the EEA memberstates have signed a special national insurance agreement with Switzerland.
The EEA legislation is based on Norwegian regulations governing social benefits – i.e. the National Insurance Act, the Employment Act, Regulation concerning unemployment benefit and Regulation concerning benefit during vocational rehabilitation.
